"Mother and Son" ...Matched large and small cutting boards nested together. Mother is 23-3/4" long by 15-1/8" wide by a full 2-3/4" thick. Son is 14-3/4" long by 9-1/2" wide by 1" thick. He slides into Mother smoothly and cleanly, and she may be picked up with him secure in his pocket.

Both have handles; Mother's handles are recessed from the 'bottom' for easy grabbing. Both sides of both boards are designed for use.

Mother weighs 12 pounds 9 ounces and Son weighs 2 pounds 10 ounces, together just over 15 pounds. They are nice enough to use as serving trays, and the design leads to some unique presentation compositions.

The wood has been cut, dried, and finished by myself. Mother's 17 strips are (from center going both ways) Poplar heartwood, Black Walnut, Cherry, Hickory, Black Walnut, Poplar heartwood, Hickory, Black Walnut, and Cherry. Son's 21 strips are (from center going both ways) Poplar heartwood, Black Walnut, Ash, Black Walnut, Maple, Black Walnut, Poplar, Cherry, Black Walnut, Poplar heartwood, and Black Walnut.

Wood is a living entity and wants to be treated well. These are finished with pure food-grade Tung Oil and will respond well to any natural oil you use to keep him fed. These boards are designed to be a permanent treasure in your kitchen.
